81 SPEEDWAY AND BELLEVILLE......LABOR DAY WEEKEND!
While out and about this coming Labor Day weekend, you will want to make sure you reserve Saturday night for a little dirt track racing action as 81 Speedway in Park City will host the National Championship Racing Association and their two divisions of modifieds and mod-lites. Also competing will be the tracks weekly divisions of 305-ci sprint cars, street stocks, thumpers and hobby stocks.
The NCRA modified division’s 2013 race season is quickly coming to a close with only three events remaining and the point chase couldn’t be any tighter as five drivers are all within fifty points of the point lead.
Two-time and defending tour champion Marc Hurd currently sits atop the standings and holds a thirty point lead over Dustin Belcher. Josh Lanterman his brother Dan Powers are tied for third in the standings and are only 40 points out of the point lead. Not to be left out, Enid, Oklahoma driver A.J. Brochu is the lone hope in bringing the title back to the “Sooner State” and sits just 50 points behind.
This will be the first night of a double-header weekend for the tour as they will head to the Belleville High Banks in Belleville on Sunday night.
The NCRA’s mod-lite division appearance at the speedway will be sandwiched in between two other events for the tour. They will make an appearance in Salina on Friday night before also making the trip north to Belleville on Sunday night.
Grandstand admission is just $10.
Gates at 81 Speedway on Saturday night will open at 5:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time.
